Book Review: The Two Princesses of Bamarre by Gail Carson Levine

The Two Princesses of Bamarreis the story of two very different sisters, Addie and Meryl. When Meryl, the fearless warrior sister gets sick, Addie, the (obviously) timid frightened sister, must leave her home and seek the cure while facing her own fears.

While I was expecting a frilly and fluffy fairy tale, I was really impressed with the actual story. This simple tale, hidden behind its princess title, has a lot of depth and thought behind it. The sisters both progress in interesting ways and the ending is not the perfect "happily ever after" one might expect.

RATINGS:
s-factor: none

mrg-factor: none

v-factor: none

(unless you can count children's fairy tale action as violence...)

Overall rating: ****
