Book Review: The Lost Memoirs of Jane Austen by Syrie James

The Lost Memoirs of Jane Austenis the story of a lost diary of Jane Austen that tells the story of her secret romance. Jane meets a mysterious man who she seems to instantaneously become enamored of him. They seem very much perfect for one another. But, as we know, she does not get to marry this man of her dreams and so hides away the story so future generations won't know of it.

A lovely idea, finding some lost writings of Jane Austen's, but highly implausible. I found that the love story was obviously created to prove that Austen had the "experience" to write so many romantic stories. The story took many actual lines and ideas from her novels and introduced them to her real life. Too bad it isn't real. I also found the style contrived and fake (really, if you didn't speak that way in real life, it IS contrived :)
