MG fiction: Wonder by R.J. Palacio (so happy about this - was a bit sad it got no mentions in the youth media awards last month)
MG Sci-fi/Fantasy: The False Prince by Jennifer A. Nielsen (love, love, love this one!)
YA fiction: Me and Earl and the Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews (and I haven't had any desire to read this before...)
YA Sci-fi/Fantasy: Seraphina by Rachel Hartman (at least this is on my TBR pile!)
And you can find the rest of the winners at the Cybils website (sorry too lazy to list any others).
Any surprises? Comments? Disappointments?
If you buy through my Amazon linkage, I will get a very small percentage
Even though I didn't love, love, love WONDER, I can understand why others did. So, no surprise there. I liked THE FALSE PRINCE, too, although again, it didn't knock my socks off. Maybe I'm just a hard reader to please. Naw, couldn't be that ...
ReplyDeleteIt's great to be a hard to please reader - it makes your loved-it book rec's even more enticing :)
DeleteI read most of those (the exception is Me and Earl and the Dying Girl). So no complaints from me. I think they're all worthy.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure they all are! I love all the award winners lists :)
DeleteI've really got to read Seraphina. The raving from other bloggers and now this...yeah, I need to read it!
ReplyDeleteYeah, me too! And the worst part is, it's just sitting there in my pile, waiting patiently.
DeleteRead Seraphina! Rachel Hartman develops such a wonderful, interesting and beautiful world! Everyone should read the book if just for the worldbuilding! Also, there is more love between family than some random boy that every heroine always meets.
ReplyDeleteGreat timing for your comment, since I'm just hoping to finish up Seraphina today! It is a really fabulous book so far. :)
