Listless Monday: Out of This World Edition

Listless Monday was inspired by both Amanda at A Bookshelf Monstrosity's feature Books by Theme and Court at Once Upon a Bookshelf's Listed feature. Be sure to check out their lists!

I love a good space book, though I think I am one of the only astronomy majors ever who didn't read adult sci-fi like it was going out of business.  I guess that's why I'm loving the YA sci-fi with touches of outer space in them.  Here are a smattering of those books:

Books that are Out of this World:

Academy 7 by Anne Osterlund
Across the Universe series by Beth Revis
Black Hole Sun by David Gill
Chaos Walking trilogy by Patrick Ness
Cinder by Marissa Meyer
Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card
Feed by M.T. Anderson
Glow by Amy Kathleen Ryan
I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore
Larklight by Philip Reeve
Last Survivors series by Susan Beth Pfeffer (kind of :)
Outside In by Maria V. Snyder
Relic Master series by Catherine Fisher
SPHDZ by Jon Scieszka
Starclimber by Kenneth Oppel
The War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells
A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle

Any additions?

If you buy through my Amazon linkage, I will get a very small percentage

PS--I notice you are reading The Scorpio Races... I just finished it last week and it is currently my favorite book!

    1. I'm still working at Scorpio Races. I don't think it works for me, for some reason, despite its awesome premise. I definitely need more outer spacey books.

  2. Oh no! I've only read one of these, A WRINKLE IN TIME (and that was just a couple of months ago). I have a lot of work to do! Luckily, both of my book clubs are reading ENDER'S GAME in the next couple of months, so I'll be reading that soon. FEED is another one that I'd really like to read in the near future.

    1. Ooh, hope you enjoy Ender's Game, it's a favorite of mine. I tried Feed a few years ago and didn't make it past the first chapter. I think I need to give it another chance.

  3. Just the cover of Feed has me wanting to know more.

    1. It actually sounds really interesting, despite my inability to get into it last time I tried. All I know is, they visit the moon :)

  4. I've only read 2 :(. If I were ever to read the one called Black Hole Sun, I'd be afraid that I'd have that horrible song running through my head every second ...

I suppose Dune is adult sci-fi? It's pretty awesome. It actually seems like a book you would love. You really haven't read it? Or you hate it?

P.S. I like your new icons up there. Especially the temple one. I hadn't seen that before, but maybe I don't get out much.

    1. I've had the song in my head since I put it on this list :) I've totally been meaning to read Dune since...well, forever. Every time I go to a library sale or used book store, I look for a copy, but I haven't had any luck yet! I just need to bite the bullet and check it out of the library.

I've only seen the temple icon in a few places, so I kind of made one of my own :)
