Listless Monday, Broken-Hearted Edition

Listless Monday was inspired by both Amanda at A Bookshelf Monstrosity's feature Books by Theme and Court at Once Upon a Bookshelf's Listed feature.  Be sure to check out their lists!

In honor of February, I am going to do some Valentine's Day themed lists!  Today we start with the poor folks who are not so lucky in love.

  1. I'm sure I have *something* to add to that list, but I'm at a loss to think of anything.

    Great list!

  2. Hi Melissa,

    I would add:

Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen
I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith
On the Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta
    Beauty by Robin McKinley

& just about anything by Georgette Heyer but for sheer fun, probably "Friday's Child".

  3. Melissa, I will wait with baited breath for your suggestions :)

Andie, I was saving P&P and Beauty for the Twitter-pated list next Monday. Do you think they are more heart-broken books? (I haven't read the other suggestions, except Jellicoe Road and I don't remember the romance in that one.)

  7. Melissa@1lbr:

I totally missed the "broken-hearted and focused on the "Valentines" so they were all "romantic" reads (or reads with romance) not broken-hearted. Never mind!
